Why do you love Firefox?

I Love Firefox!A couple days ago I downloaded and installed Firefox 3. I'm a total gadget freak (and FF nut) and so today I was thinking about all those people who got their own on download day. Where do they live? Why do they love Firefox? What features do they like best? What add-ons do they prefer?

So to find out here are a few questions that you can answer about why you love Firefox. To kick things off I'll go first ....

Why do you love Firefox more than other browsers?

Like most people I started out with the other browsers. My first one was Netscape, then I tried Opera when it first came out, but for the most part I was using Internet Explorer for the majority of my browsing. Then I learned about the Mozilla browser. Back before it became known as Firefox it was simply part of the Mozilla Suite. At first it was just another pleasant distraction, like Opera, and I really didn't use it all that much. Except there was something intriguing about an open source browser project and the name - Mozilla - and there was that hilarious little pun in the preferences window "Cookies are delicious delicacies". Little things like this are the reason I love Firefox over any other browser. I knew then that the Mozilla Project was on to something big, because these guys weren't just building a browser they were creating a labor of love. I started out with version 0.8 and have been using it ever since.

What features of Firefox do you like the best?

1) Tabbed browsing (once I discovered it I never went back).

2) The whole open source deal (as I said above) because it keeps the product fresh, secure, and free from bugs (can anyone say ActiveX?).

3) Bookmarks; in IE they were simply there, but in FF they're fun (and now they have tags!).
4) Pop-up blocker.

What are your favorite add-ons and/or extensions?

1) FaviconizeTab, because I always have a ton of tabs open and with this little beauty I can collapse them all to favicon-size.

2) Web Developer, which adds a menu bar to FF that lets you access some super cool web developer tools.

3) FireFTP, which allows me to access my web server right in FF at anytime anywhere.

What is your favorite theme?

Of all the browsers I have used Netscape (in my opinion) had the best GUI. When I found out Florian was not updating his Winestripe classic theme for this version of FF I decided to use Past Modern by Kuden, because it reminds me a lot of the old Netscape interface.
